Aleve Caplet 100ct - Pain Reliever, Fever Reducer Uses Temporarily relieves minor aches and pains due to: common cold, headache, toothache, muscular aches, backache, menstrual cramps, minor pain of arthritis. Temporarily reduces fever. Directions Do not take more than directed. Drink a full glass of water with each dose. Over age 65: 1 tablet every 12 hours. Do not exceed 1 tablet in 12 hours, unless directed by a doctor. 12-65 year: take 1 tablet every 8 to 12 hours while symptoms persist. For the first dose you may take 2 tablets within the first hour. Do not take more than 2 tablets in any 8 to 12 hours, or 3 caplets in a 24 hour period. The smallest effective dose should be used. Under 12 years: ask a doctor. Warnings Allergy Alert: Naproxen sodium may cause a sever allergic reaction which may include: hives, facial swelling, asthma (wheezing), shock. Alcohol Warning: If you drink 3 or more alcoholic beverages every day, ask your doctor whether you should take naproxen sodium or other pain relievers/fever reducers. Naproxen sodium may cause stomach bleeding. Do not use: if you ever had an allergic reaction to any other pain reliever/fever reducer. Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are: taking any other product that contains naproxen sodium or any other pain reliever/fever reducer; taking other drugs on a regular basis; under a doctor's care for any continuing condition. Stop use and ask a doctor if: an allergic reaction occurs. Seek medical help right away. Symptoms continue or worsen. You have difficulty swallowing or it feels like the pill is stuck in your throat. Stomach pain occurs with use of this product or if even mild symptoms persist. Pain worsens or last for more than 10 days. Painful area is read or swollen. Any new or unexpected symptoms occur. You develop heartburn. Fever last for more than 3 days. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a health professional before use. It is especially important not to use naproxen sodium during the last 3 months of pregnancy unless definitely directed to do so by a doctor because it may cause problems in the unborn child or complications during delivery. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact Poison Control Center right away. As with any drug, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, seek the advice of a health professional before using this product. IT IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT NOT TO USE ASPIRIN DURING THE LAST 3 MONTHS OF PREGNANCY UNLESS SPECIFICALLY DIRECTED TO DO SO BY A DOCTOR BECAUSE IT MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS IN THE UNBORN CHILD OR COMPLICATIONS DURING DELIVERY. Do not take this product for pain for more than 10 days or for fever for more than 3 days unless directed by a doctor. If pain or fever persists or gets worse, if new symptoms occur, or if redness or swelling is present, consult a doctor because these could be signs of a serious condition. Do not take this product if you are allergic to aspirin, have asthma, have stomach problems (such as heartburn, upset stomach or stomach pain) that persist or recur, or if you have ulcers or bleeding problems, unless directed by a doctor. If ringing in the ears or loss of hearing occurs, consult a doctor before taking any more of this product. DRUG INTERACTION PRECAUTION: Do not take this product if you are taking a prescription drug for anticoagulation (thinning of blood), diabetes, gout or arthritis unless directed by a doctor.
